AOC’s Latest Twitter ‘Clapback’ Might Be Her Dumbest Yet

WashingtonExaminer.com:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is well-known for her high-profile Twitter feuds, and her “clapbacks” have earned her much fanfare among liberal Twitter addicts. But the New York socialist’s latest social media sparring leaves her looking either extraordinarily stupid or deeply deceitful.

The feud started when Dispatch editor at large Jonah Goldberg replied to Ocasio-Cortez and called her anti-rich rhetoric “dumb and dishonest.” “You could confiscate every penny held by every billionaire and multimillionaire in America and it wouldn't cover a fraction of your Green New Deal fantasy,” he tweeted.

Goldberg was referring to Ocasio-Cortez’s landmark “Green New Deal” proposal, which includes policies such as socialist healthcare via “Medicare for all,” upgrading every building in the United States, a federal job guarantee, “free” college, and more. Estimates put its total cost at up to $93 trillion, which is $600,000 per household.

Goldberg is, of course, correct — confiscating all the money from American billionaires and millionaires wouldn’t even come close to funding that.

Here’s where Ocasio-Cortez comes in.

“Hey there! Totally get it if you’ve never bothered to read the legislation you’re commenting so authoritatively on,” she replied to Goldberg’s tweet. “The Green New Deal is a non-binding resolution of values. It does not have a price tag or CBO score and costs us $0 if passed.”

For some bizarre reason, media outlets such as the Hill described this nonresponse as a “clapback.” This clearly slants the story in Ocasio-Cortez’s favor even though all the facts are against her.

AOC Owes $2,000 in Unpaid Taxes from Failed Business Venture

NYPost.com:
US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to raise taxes on the rich — just not pay her own.

The Democratic socialist congresswoman from The Bronx still hasn’t paid a 7-year-old tax bill leftover from a failed business venture.

AOC had founded Brook Avenue Press, a publishing house that sought designers, artists and writers from urban areas to help paint The Bronx in a positive way in children’s stories, in 2012.

As the Post previously reported, public records show the state dissolved the company in October 2016. The state can make such a move when a business fails to pay corporate taxes or file a return.

The state Tax Department then filed a warrant against her now-defunct business on July 6, 2017, over a $1,618.36 unpaid bill.

As of Friday, the tax warrant had still not been satisfied, and the outstanding balance had grown to $2,088.78, the department said.

AOC Slams JetBlue For Tribute To First Responders

HotAir.com:

Climate change alarmists were not at all impressed by JetBlue’s flyover tribute to honor first responders in New York City Thursday. The lawmaker responsible for the Green New Deal, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, posted a tweet conflating the airline’s gesture of gratitude to that of a big corporation callously polluting air quality and endangering the lives of local residents.

JetBlue did a nice thing so the corporation must be punished. AOC did so verbally via Twitter, attacking the flyover as a corporate publicity stunt that polluted the air. She said that vulnerable New Yorkers were dying from the respiratory virus and this just added to their suffering.

JetBlue aircraft were painted with FDNY, NYPD, and “I Love New York” designs. While AOC went after them from the climate change activist’s viewpoint, other residents expressed a more legit reaction, in my opinion, if some criticism was to be expressed. The jets flew low over the Hudson River and around lower Manhattan, the former site of the Twin Towers. Frankly, it freaked some people out who were unaware of what was happening. That’s understandable. Other people, though, appreciated the show.

Rep. Yoho Pushes Back on AOC's Accusation That He Verbally Attacked Her

Of course, the liberal media is going to take AOC's side because she's their darling. But damn if the media actually did their job...
